Abstract Illustration by Jemal Diamond
Selections from 2013-2017
Highlights of 2017 include my first South Bay solo show with Phantom Galleries, and experimenting with printmaking and digital textures.
In 2016 I found myself reacting visually to a chaotic political world with work that was full of fear and empathy for marginalized social groups, yet bursting with hope and joy.
Did you ever do a 'drawing-a-day thing? It's hard! I committed to creating 365 drawings in 2015 and posted everyday to illicit titles, collecting over 2000 titles.
I starting really experimenting with digital textures, enjoying the mixed-media feel of combining paint, ink, and pencils textured line work together.
In 2013 I was learning the iPad drawing apps and finding it incredibly joyous and conducive to my loose style of drawing.
